Access from Aberdeen and the East:
There are several choices if coming from Aberdeen. The shortest and most scenic is over the Lecht. In winter, it is often advisable to go via Keith. In any event, you should end up on the A95 heading to Grantown on Spey. If travelling over the Lecht you only join the A95 from the A939 (Lecht road) just before Grantown. Follow the A95 over the Spey at Speybridge. Immediately after crossing the river turn left at the roundabout on the "Grantown bypass". The bypass is only 0.5 miles long and you then continue on the A95 after a roundabout. Following the A95 you bypass Dulnain bridge and see the first turning to Boat of Garten on your left hand side after about 7 miles from Grantown. Do not take this turning but continue until the second (and last) turning for Boat of Garten, which is 1.3 miles further along the A95. There is also a school at this second junction.
